Your Home Away from Home in Strahan
Originally from Southeast Queensland we, Paul and Sharon, decided it was time for a change. Inspired by our travel experiences, we started researching and found Castaway Holiday Apartments.
In July 2023 we began our new venture to create a welcoming retreat that reflects our love for travel and the comfort we seek on our own journeys.
Our aim is to offer a place that’s clean, comfortable, and spacious—where guests can relax and truly feel at home.

Castaway Holiday Apartments in Strahan offer spotlessly clean, two-bedroom, self-contained apartments in a friendly and relaxed setting.
Each apartment features a spacious open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.
One apartment is designed to accommodate guests with disabilities (with assistance).
Whether you’re traveling as a small group, family, couple, or solo adventurer, our apartments comfortably accommodate up to four people, providing an ideal base for short getaways or leisurely holidays.
Our Guest BBQ Area is a great garden space where you can relax, enjoy your meal and savour a beverage from our selection of Tasmanian wines, ciders and craft beers.
Located just 150 metres from the IGA supermarket, guests can easily pick up supplies to prepare meals in the fully equipped kitchen, complete with a full-sized oven and refrigerator.
Convenient Location and Easy Access to Strahan’s Attractions
A short 5-minute stroll will take you to Strahan’s town centre, where you’ll find the Information Centre, wharf, cruise terminals, restaurants, and cafes.
For your convenience, we also offer a Guest Laundry with a front loader washing machine and dryer for a minimal cost, with detergent supplied.
If your car needs some care after navigating Tasmania’s rugged roads, we provide all car wash equipment for a small fee.
During your stay, take advantage of our Complimentary DVD Library and enjoy a movie from our extensive collection, or have fun with our selection of Indoor and Outdoor Games for all ages.
We suggest a minimum stay of three nights to allow you time to experience Strahan’s attractions and to explore more of what the West Coast has to offer
